Boston Tennis and Racquet Club is built.
1904
Architect: Parker & Thomas. Designed in the Beaux Arts style, it is located at 927 – 939 Boylston Street. The club was organized in 1902, according to Richard Garver, to offer “real tennis” and squash and because the existing Boston Athletic Association was “insufficiently exclusive” in its membership. The building contains courts for court tennis and rackets, but not for racquetball.
